Energy Director is being developed for homes with electric vehicles, 240-volt or wall-mounted charging, solar, batteries, and other large electrical loads. It uses customer-provided utility data to compare rate-plan costs, 15-minute demand peaks, EV-charging timing, solar exports, and selected battery-cost scenarios.

Why this matters now
NV Energy says a separate Southern Nevada residential daily-demand charge will begin in January 2027. For households with large, flexible loads—especially home EV charging—the timing and overlap of those loads can affect modeled outcomes. Read NV Energy’s public information.

Solar production, grid imports, exports, evening charging, and battery operation can change the numbers. Their economic value depends on the household’s data and the rate scenario being modeled.
